Educating clients about nutrition is just as if not more important than putting them through a work out.

Boxer Ross skipped breakfasts and consumed high GI, processed and convenience foods thus leaving him lethargic and lacking energy. These days he’s training hard for his next bout, eating clean and looking mean and lean.

Here is a recent testimonial from a valued sports club client:

“Oli and Ruben provided a sound preseason fitness regime for Shelford Rugby Club with a sound mix of aerobic and anaerobic exercises and games. Both guys provided well thought out sessions that used a good balance of individual and group activities enabling team mates to work on both self fitness and working as a team. The use of different equipment for variety only added to the fun with the end result being (as measure through a series of measuring mechanics) a fitter squad of players”

I also train sports teams such as Shelford FC, Fulbourn FC, Cherry Hinton FC (Football) and Cherry Hinton Netball Club. See images below:

Carrot French Fries (serves 2-3)

6 large carrots
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon Himalayan sea salt

Cut each carrot into 2-inch long sections. Cut each section into thin sticks. In a large bowl toss carrot sticks with olive oil and salt. Spread out carrot sticks on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake at 425° for 18-22 minutes until carrots are browned. Luvly jubbly.

Here’s an autumn inspired smoothie idea:

1 frozen banana
3/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
1.5 cups water
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 tablespoon maple syrup
pinch of cinnamon

Add banana, Greek yogurt, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, maple syrup, cinnamon and water to blender.

Blend for 15-20 seconds.

Job done. Enjoy.

Check out these delicious & nutritious soup combos from Soupologie. Has anyone tried these?

They are Dairy & Gluten Free! See below for more information:

“The Soupologie journey began on a market stall in 2012, selling Stephen’s delicious soups and getting feedback from all of the lovely people we met there.

It quickly became apparent that the time had come to shake up the soup sector, disrupt the norm and create soups that were far removed from what people were used to seeing in their local shops and supermarkets. You told us, and keep telling us, that you want soups that are as close as possible to those that you make yourselves.

And so, Soupologie soups were born, using only healthy and nutritious ingredients that don’t compromise on taste and always meet certain nutritional criteria.   And where better than to go back to nature to get heaps of those super natural nutrients inside you? All our soups are plant-based, gluten free, dairy free, with no added sugars (not even pretend ones like maltodextrin or glucose syrup, thank you very much).

As a result, our soups are vegan, low carb, low cal and often come with super special ingredients like spirulina (high in protein), amaranth (gluten free grain that’s high in calcium), black garlic (super high in antioxidants).”

Why ostrich meat is considered healthy:
Low in cholesterol – Just 0,062g per 100g meat
Low in fat – Less than 2,0 % per 100g meat
Low in kilojoules – Only 387kJ per 100g meat
Rich in protein – A high 20,5% per 100g meat
Rich in iron – A high 3,2mg per 100g meat

Who said that all red meat poses health risks? If you have considered to stop eating red meat, why not switch to ostrich? Ostrich meat is recommended by medical practitioners and dieticians and often referred to as “the healthiest red meat”.
